"I started Kuk Sool under Master Harmon in early 1993 at the age of 11.
At the time I had four great mentors who I admired and looked up to greatly.
In my mind, Master Barry Harmon and Choon Ok Harmon were completely
amazing! I couldn't believe that Masters of such caliber actively taught
regular classes. Their demos were incredible and I felt privileged to be a
part of their school.

Mike Nebgen Sa Bum Nim (at the time Dahn Bo Nim) was another inspiration.
I remember him conducting my first introductory lesson. After that, I knew
this was the place I wanted to be. I was very happy for him when he open his
own Kuk Sool Won school in Meyerland, but I was also saddened to lose one of
my favorite instructors. As I started coming through the ranks, I began to
assist with classes. I would hold targets, be an extra partner, or anything
that would get me more involved with the school.
Isidoro Canales, better known to everyone as Izzy, helped me a tremendous
amount to develop my teaching skills. He really took me under his wing and
showed me the ropes. He helped me to develop the foundation for much of my
teaching ability in the early years. I owe a great deal of who I am and
what I have achieved to Master Barry and Choon Ok Harmon, Mike Nebgen, and Izzy
Canales. Thank you all very much!"
